So up front, I really like this book. First off, the lingo, slang, & terminology used rang true & brought back all kinds of memories (pity the POG boyfriend). Some great dialogue & bits of humor to keep things from getting too dark. Overall, I recommend this book for military- past & present- looking for a good urban fantasy style of book.It wasn’t always an easy read for me, & I did find myself toughing it through some of the middle third... I thought there was too much lag between the initial set up of the story & the first real indication of what direction it was gonna go. I mean, sure, we know what’s gonna happen... eventually. I might’ve just liked to cut past some of the filler & gotten some idea of how things were going to get there a little bit sooner.Still, there was way more to like than not... Again, there’s some great dialogue in here, & that’s the toughest part of writing. Check this one out.
