Wow! It's not often we get a new band or album released nowadays that is such a full frontal assault to your ears and mind. This is by far one of the best rock albums in the last ten years. Don't take my word for it though, Jimmy Page (who's that you say?) seems to feel the same way. What you need to keep in mind is that is two people playing, Ben Thatcher on drums and Mike Kerr on vocals and .... bass. All those bits you thought were a regular guitar are effect infused notes from a bass guitar (or guitars - a Fender, Gretsch, and a Manson). Incredible what he has done. It's like the Black Keys on steroids.Delving into the album you start off with Out of the Black, a great song in itself but that is just the teaser. Songs like Come on Over, Figure it Out, Blood Hands, and Loose Change are just amazing. Great lyrics and very catchy rifts that just keep sucking you deeper into the song.I purchased the vinyl version of this album and have no issues or complaints about the quality of pressing or mastering. As soon as my Dynavector XX-2 digs into this pool of blackness it's just pure nirvana. Enjoy!
